Stars of our Holiday Show!

Jonathon, Kayla, and Alyssa were the stars of our Holiday Cantata performed in Sun City.  Alyssa, who was very shy last year, was eager to perform! Kayla delighted the audience with her sweet smile!  Jonathon, who played Santa, delivered presents with a "ho, ho, ho"!  Performng skits like these allow children to build their confidence speaking in front of groups and it provides opportunities for community members to see first-hand what children with hearing loss can do!

Baby Evan Loves His Hearing Aids!

3 month old Evan is getting used to wearing hearing aids.  He wears them whenever he isn't napping and is tolerating having something in his ears quite well!  His older sister Alyssa, who uses bilateral cochlear implants herself, sings to Evan every day! Evan's mom reports that he is much more alert when wearing his aids.  Evan's parents are bombarding him with sounds so that he has every opportunity to develop spoken language, just like his big sister! The entire family participates in Listening and Spoken Language Therapy at Bolesta.  Their commitment to Alyssa and Evan is amazing and all that effort pays off, Alyssa is outgoing, energetic and very verbal and Evan is already on his way!
